Fearne Cotton Launches SS15 Collection For Very

I was recently invited to Fearne Cottons latest catwalk show at One Marylebone, to showcase her new Spring Summer 2015 collection for Very.

The theme was Circus, and every little detail lived up to its theme. The invitation was a video (of course!) of a cockney ringmaster... there were fire jugglers, and even hula hooping gals all doing there thing while the models walked the glittering catwalk.
The hair was styled in cute micky mouse top buns, sandals were worn with sparkly ankle socks, and boots, had an air of ziggy stardust with glitter platforms and heals.

I was sat on the FROW opposite some of Fearnes friends - Gok Wan, Amanda Byram, Kye Sones, who had all turned out in force to support there pal.  Fearnes new husband Jesse Wood was there too cheering on his lady, and had bought along some of the wood clan- step mum Jo Wood, sister Leah and new step mum Sally Humphreys. His daughter lola even came dressed as a clown which was super cute! Other celebrities in attendance included the Mcfly wifes (Giovanna Fletcher, Izzy Judd and Georgia Horsley) the made in chelsea stars, and legendary fashion journalist Hilary Alexander.

Which brings me nicely onto the clothes. A gorgeous black and ivory striped fun fur coat kicked off the collection, layered over some sexy black undies. Fur is being is being tipped (excuse the pun) to be huge for SS15 with New York and London fashion weeks being awash with clipped, coloured, striped and conversational furs from Tommy Hilfiger and J Mendel. The fact that designers are show casing fur for spring proves its an important staple, and I'm sure it will become a festival must have for next season.
A berry coloured culotte jumpsuit caught my eye, I do love a culotte, and I'm adding this jumpsuit hybrid to my summer must have list. A jacquard ivory full skirt and beaded tee was feminine but layered over the black cami and styled with the ankle boots added edge.
And a beautiful 50's inspired twosie cemented that co-ords are here to stay for at least another season.

The collection was playful and feminine with modern retro shapes such as 50's full skirts and 70's culottes, but it still kept an air of tomboy-ishness which I feel en-captures Fearne's dressed down approach to fashion and covered key shapes which any fashionista would be proud of.

This collection launches in January and is sure to beat the post christmas blues. .. (Hurry up January, I need that fur coat now!)
